Priority Review Date (Note - Posting may close at any time) Job Summary The Division of Urology within the Department of Surgery is seeking a professional, well-organized team player to fill the position of Clinical Research Coordinator.
Responsibilities The selected candidate will assist with the operations of the Adult and Pediatric Urology clinical research programs, dividing efforts between the two divisions. Responsibilities include: overseeing research and administrative procedures; ensuring compliance with hospital, state, federal and regulatory policies and procedures including patient consent (when applicable); perform data acquisition and entry for prospective urology projects; among other research related tasks. Involvement is expected to be 100% FTE.
Some of the primary duties would be to help design, implement and direct research projects; screen potential research participants and coordinate patient follow-up for enrolled subjects; obtain informed consent/assent from research subjects and/or parents/guardians; help to develop and implement research quality control procedures including data collection and data management tools (e.g. case report forms, databases, and data entry and cleaning systems) as well as ensure the accuracy and validity of data entered in databases; assist in the creation, editing, and submission of IRB protocols; and participate in aspects of grant submissions and reporting in consultation with Investigators and clinical trials officers.
The successful candidate must possess exceptional interpersonal, communication and analytical skills and the ability to express good judgment in decision making as a leader. MS Office and Excel and electronic database proficiency is desirable. The individual should demonstrate self-initiation and possess the ability to work independently yet also effectively participate as part of a team.

Minimum Qualifications Bachelors degree in a health sciences or related field or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience) with two years professional research experience and completion of University RATS Clinical Certification within one year of hire required. Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills also required.
Knowledge of Good Clinical Practices, FDA, HIPAA and IRB regulations; an understanding of research procedures; and the ability to function independently is preferred.
Departments may require IRB CITI Course or IATA DGR training within a specified timeframe.
Departments may prefer a nursing degree for this position, which requires the incumbent to have two years related experience and possess a nationally recognized research compliance certification.
