Optum Financial is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Product focusing on strengthening existing and innovating new benefit offerings. This pivotal role will lead the strategy and product development efforts leveraging the Optum Healthcare Payment Network and bank capabilities. This Director of Product will be focused on defining strategy, building product backlog, and managing key initiatives while partnering closely with key stakeholders, launch partner product teams, client product teams, across multiple capability teams, and engineering to ensure a best-in-class e2e product experience, build, testing, and GTM launch. They will participate in the pricing strategy and will be responsible for tracking the product performance metrics as well.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Understand market and consumer needs, as well as the competitive landscape
  • Constantly collect and analyze performance data (e.g., market; financial; operational) in order to enhance existing products and identify new opportunities for the business
  • Support definition and execution of product roadmaps, and drive near and long-term strategies to increase product value over time
  • Drive and manage high-quality execution across organizational matrix
  • Serve as a subject matter expert to internal stakeholders on specific marketplace and product topics
  • Support sales and account management for key client activities
  • Collaborate with internal leaders and external partners to gain an understanding of business needs and be able to adapt product strategy, priorities, and business plans accordingly
  • Develop a point of view and advocate for a position and product at all levels of the organization, including directly to executive leadership
  • Navigate ambiguity with ease
  • Strategic thinking, analytical skills, and the ability to make data-driven decisions
  • Leverage leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage and motivate teams

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ Proven experience as a product management leader, specifically for complex Healthcare and Financial benefits technology products
  • 7+ years of experience in defining product vision and strategy in response to the needs of different channels (e.g., B2C, D2C, Consumer segments by age, demographics, health insurance types)
  • 7+ years of experience with Medicare Advantage, Medicaid, Commercial, CMS regulations
  • 7+ years of experience in healthcare payments
  • 7+ of experience working in Agile methodologies and the Software/Product Delivery Lifecycle (SDLC and PDLC).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in business, healthcare management, or a related field
  • Experience in the healthcare industry, health and wellness, healthcare services
  • Proven ability to drive product innovation and market expansion

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The salary for this role will range from $132,200 to $226,600 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
