**Company :** Allegheny Health Network **Job Description :** **GENERAL OVERVIEW:** Performs basic clinical and administrative functions to support genetic counseling and risk assessment for individuals at risk. **ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:** + Creates and updates patient pedigrees in risk assessment software. (20%) + Assists genetics counselors in communication of normal test results to patients and physicians. (20%) + Administers patient intake forms and completes family histories. (20%) + Retrieves patient MR, scans EHR, performs maintenance on genetic counseling data. (20%) + Assists with the creation of patient education, lecture and seminar materials. (10%) + Assists in clinical investigations by performing literature searches. (5%) + Performs other duties assigned. (5%) **QUALIFICATIONS:** Minimum + Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate + Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate + Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate Preferred + Current or planned enrollment in an accredited Master of Science in Genetics Counseling program + Bachelor's degree in genetics/genetics counseling, biology, psychology, chemistry, or other health/science related field **_Disclaimer:_** _The job description has been designed to indicate the general nature and essential duties and responsibilities of work performed by employees within this job title.
