Job Description We are seeking a dedicated Laboratory Assistant to join our team. This role is crucial in maintaining the efficiency and cleanliness of our laboratory environment while supporting scientific staff with precision and attention to detail. Responsibilities + Maintain the upkeep and cleanliness of the laboratory. + Stock lab supplies and personal protective equipment (PPE), and prepare glassware for scientists and technicians. + Prepare microanalysis tools for scientists, including needles, glass microslides, and other tools as needed. + Perform and maintain inventory control, ensuring chemicals are stored properly, separate inventory based on client needs, and place orders with the purchasing department. + Work within the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) to update inventory, chemicals, and data properly and accurately. + Document all tasks in accordance with standard operating procedures and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGxP) standards to ensure compliance and continuous improvement. + Participate in monthly cleanroom cleaning. + Maintain small equipment, including pH meters, microscopes, and remote particle counters. + Requalify refractive index liquids and prepare reagents as directed by scientific staff. + Maintain a professional and respectful demeanor with colleagues and clients, ensuring clear and effective communication at all times. + Follow all Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) protocols and company policies during laboratory operations. Qualifications + Bachelors or Associates Degree in the sciences. + Ability to work well in a team and collaborate cross-functionally. + Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. + Willingness to learn and assist where needed. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Downers Grove, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
