Position: Network Engineer
Location: Austin, TX
Duration: 6-month contract-to-hire
Compensation: $50 - $60 / Hour
Work schedule: Monday-Friday (8 AM-5PM CST) - onsite 3x per week
Benefits: This position is eligible for medical, dental, vision and 401(k)
Ability to assess a new environment quickly using standard methods, such as CDP/LLDP mapping, documentation, route table analysis, failover logging.
Skills/Technology
Palo Alto NGFW
· CLI as well a GUI experience.
· UserID, AppID, Threat detection,
· OS upgrades/APP ID impact analysis
· Multi Vsys/Router with 5000 series experience
Cisco Route/Switch
· Datacenter/eBGP/iBGP/OSPF
· L3 troubleshooting/Multipath redundancy designs.
Cisco Nexus/Datacenter
· VPC/Back to Back VPC troubleshooting
· VRF Management
Cisco Wireless:
· Cisco Aeronet to Cisco Meraki Wireless Conversion experience
Security
· Cisco Identity Services Engine
· Palo Alto Global Protect: Tshoot, upgrade, authentication methods
· General understanding of authentication systems integration into VPN and Network Access control.
Preferred:
CCNP Route Switch OR PCSNE (engineer level palo or cisco certification)
Cisco Voice:
CUCM/UCS/VMWare, ability to tshoot voice quality
· Voip/RTP/Packet Capture
· QOS/COS Planning and implementation
Familiarity with other products:
· Palo Alto Panorama
· Palo Alto AIOPS
· Palo Alto Identity Engine
· Cisco Meraki Identity management integration
Ability to lift and transport 50Lb of network gear between sites on occasion.
Ability to complete change controls after hours, on or offsite.
