Job Description

PPS is seeking a detail-oriented Plant Operator for our liquid waste management facility in Austin. This is a full-time, permanent position with benefits and a high ceiling for growth!

Responsibilities:  

• Load/unload docks using forklift
• Operate and monitor pumps, valves, chemical feed systems, and other treatment equipment to control the flow and treatment processes
• Monitor gauges and charts, and use computerized systems to ensure optimal treatment and compliance with regulations
• Collect samples at various points and perform laboratory tests to assess water quality and treatment efficiency
• Perform routine preventive maintenance on equipment, identify and resolve equipment issues, and make necessary repairs
• Document operational data, maintain records on water quality, and prepare reports to ensure adherence to environmental regulations
• Follow safety procedures, plan emergency response protocols, and act to fix issues

The Ideal Candidate Will Possess:

• Experience safely handling liquid waste, wastewater, or chemicals
• High level of attention-to-detail
• Proven mechanical acumen and previous work with pumps, motors, valves, etc.
• Forklift operation experience
• Monitoring machines or processes
• Ability to follow SOPs to maintain environmental compliance
