Sheetfed Press Operator – 2nd Shift
Impress Communications, a premier printing and packaging provider based in Chatsworth, CA, is seeking an experienced Sheetfed Press Operator to join our 2nd shift team (2:30 PM – 10:30 PM, Monday through Friday). We specialize in high-end folding cartons and commercial print for the cosmetics and beauty industries. As part of our pressroom team, you will operate and maintain state-of-the-art Komori sheetfed presses to deliver exceptional quality and precision on every run.
Set up, operate, and troubleshoot Komori sheetfed offset presses to meet daily production goals
Perform color matching, registration, and quality checks in real time
Complete accurate press checks and make adjustments to maintain consistency and print standards
Conduct routine maintenance and minor repairs to ensure press performance
Read and interpret job tickets and customer specifications for each run
Collaborate with prepress and finishing teams to optimize workflow
Ensure compliance with company safety, cleanliness, and 5S standards
3+ years of experience operating sheetfed offset presses (Komori experience strongly preferred)
Strong understanding of ink densities, color theory, and print specifications
Ability to read job tickets and follow verbal and written instructions
Mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
Familiarity with quality control processes and safety protocols
High school diploma or equivalent required
Certifications in 5S, Lean Manufacturing, or Six Sigma (preferred but not required)
Climate-controlled pressroom in a clean, high-volume production facility
Standing for long periods and lifting up to 50 lbs as needed
Exposure to machinery, noise, and occasional solvents/inks (PPE provided)
Collaborative, safety-first environment with a high standard for quality output
Hourly pay range: $25–$40/hour based on experience
Full-time, direct hire with overtime opportunities
