Job Description

Responsibilities

The Systems Engineering Manager will be integral to the design, development, and evaluation of tools and services to support platform modernization. As a manager and technical lead, you will be responsible for the day-to-day tasking of direct reports and act as a liaison between program stakeholders and technical developers.  

What you'll do:

  • Manage engineering resources’ tasking for successful delivery of program initiatives.
  • Research system improvements to increase the operational efficiency of the analytics platform supported processes.
  • Administer current analytics platform tools, including managing permissions for all available capabilities rolled out to our modeling community.
  • Lead technical implementation of analytics platform improvements, best practices, and security measures to increase the robustness of the system.
  • Perform security assessments for incoming requests and modeling packages submitted to the analytics platform.
  • Maintain active CI/CD pipelines for backend compute updates, production dashboards, and model releases.
  • Develop, maintain, and deploy container images for set of modeling packages available in our environment.
  • Automate manual deployment and release steps for platform infrastructure supporting our modeling environment.
  • Stand up new opensource, cloud native, and COTS products and integrating tools into existing architecture.
  • Communicating platform changes and escalating platform issues as they arise. 

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • 10 years of experience, may have supervisory or lead experience
  • Demonstrated experience with standing up and administering data analytics tools and platforms, such as Snowflake and Databricks
  • Demonstrated experience with hosting cloud infrastructure, specifically in AWS
  • Experience integrating Infrastructure as Code into a system architecture (Terraform/Ansible)
  • Demonstrated experience with automated pipeline deployments to support CI/CD best practices
  • Experience with source version control (GitHub)
  • Experience with container development and CI/CD related tools (Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins/CloudBees)
  • Demonstrated experience with Configuration and Policy as Code (YAML)
  • Cloud experience implementing network security policies and data security for large scale applications
  • Strong development background in scripting languages, such as Python or bash
  • Team player - strong desire to work in a collaborative environment
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to demonstrate new capabilities to program stakeholders
  • Ability to obtain/maintain a Public Trust clearance
  • US citizenship is required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active Security Clearance
  • Familiarity with Okta groups and permission administration
  • Experience with other cloud service providers (Azure, GCP)
  • Experience in connecting large scale applications in an overall systems architecture

Target Salary Range

$104,000 - $166,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
