Job Description WE ARE HIRING! AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Transportation Planning Engineer Intern - Summer 2026 to join our Denver, CO office.

Our Internship Program,
Explore, is designed for college students pursuing a degree in a STEM field and provides opportunities to learn what it's like to work in a professional environment and apply what's learned in class to the real-world challenges we face every day.
RESPONSIBILITIES - Support our team with transportation planning tasks that could include:
- Traffic modeling
- Data collection
- Safety analysis
- Multi-modal planning and design
- Public engagement
- Assist with documentation and preparation of reports.
- Contribute to preparation of design plans
- Assist with data analysis, charts and graphics
QUALIFICATIONS - EXPERIENCE:
- No experience is generally required if accepted into a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in a related technical field.
- EDUCATION:
- Must have completed 60 hours towards a civil engineering Bachelor's degree or related field, or be enrolled in a Master's program in Civil Engineering or Urban Planning from an ABET accredited program by the start of the internship (Summer 2026).
- SPECIAL SKILLS:
- Math skills to perform simple calculations; willingness to learn.
- Basic computer skills required to enter data into spreadsheets or databases.
- Interest in transportation and traffic engineering
- Good computer skills and be able to utilize standard office software.

Expected compensation range is between $23 - $29 hourly depending on skills, experience, and geographical location.
