This position is a remote workstation location based on the selected candidate’s home address, which can be in any county in Kentucky.
The Office of Unemployment Insurance is an agency of the Education and Labor Cabinet. The Office of Unemployment Insurance assists Kentuckians who are unemployed or underemployed and actively seeking employment. The Office oversees unemployment insurance benefit payments, provides claim assistance, enforces unemployment insurance tax requirements for employers, audits employer records to ensure compliance, adjudicates disputed claims, conducts hearings for claims that have been appealed, and conducts quality control reviews to ensure each area within the office complies with federal and state regulations. This is a federally funded time limited (FFTL) position. This means it is a position that is paid entirely as the result of a federal grant. The duration of employment shall not exceed the life of the federal grant that funds the position. An employee appointed to an FFTL position is required to meet the minimum requirements for the classification. Further, an employee appointed to an FFTL position is designated as an unclassified (non- merit) employee. An FFTL employee is eligible to receive benefits at the same level as a classified (merit) employee in a permanent position. This position will have access to confidential and sensitive information. The successful candidate will be required to ensure the safeguarding and security of all confidential and sensitive information and will be required to complete trainings, sign acknowledgments, follow all policies and adhere to all statutes and requirements pertaining to the safeguarding and security of confidential and sensitive information while employed and after employment ends. EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Three years of experience in reviewing, monitoring, determining eligibility for, and/or administering employment service or unemployment insurance programs, or experience in education, public administration, business, human services, military, human resources or a related field. Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: A master's degree will substitute for one year of the required experience. Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Work experience in workforce programs such as WIOA, employment services, and/or unemployment insurance programs, or experience in education, public administration, business, human services, military, human resources or a related field will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
