Job Description and Duties

Under the general direction of the General Counsel, the incumbent plans, organizes, directs, coordinates, reviews, and supervises the work of the Office of the General Counsel (OGC) legal staff in the performance of litigation and transactional work related to natural infrastructure, ecosystem resilience, habitat restoration projects, and land conservation in which the Department of Water Resources is involved.

  • The position(s) require(s) a(n) Active Membership in the California State Bar License. You will be required to provide a copy of your license prior to being hired.

Active California Driver's License.

This position is covered in the Political Reform Act and requires financial disclosure within 30 days of the first and last day physically worked in a covered position and annually by April 1.

  • Experience with the California Endangered Species Act (CESA) and the Endangered Species Act (ESA)
  • Experience with habitat restoration
  • Experience in construction contracts
