Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY: Perform the cleaning duties to keep assigned work area(s) in a clean and orderly condition including but not limited to the men's residence hall. May work alone or in a small crew that would include student employees.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  

• Floor maintenance (sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, etc.)
• Restroom cleaning, sanitation and paper product replenishment
• Trash can emptying
• Setting a strong example for student employees
• Other tasks as assigned

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

• Ability to work with others and set an example for students
• Take initiative on projects and tasks
• Knowledge of or willingness to learn proper cleaning techniques
• Knowledge of or willingness to learn hazards and safety methods related to custodial operations
• Must be responsible to effectively complete assigned cleaning duties independently
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
• Ability to keep time and attendance records preferred
• Ability to perform physical inventory of equipment and supplies preferred
