• Call Schedule: Evenings, weekends, and holidays. Specific on-call schedule will be made in conjunction with VA staff oncology physicians.

• Call Type: Pager or cell phone

• Call Ratio: Split among available providers

• Call Response Time: Provider must be available within 15 minutes by phone and on-site within 60 minutes.

• Callback %: Approximately once per week or less

• % of Practice: 90% Direct Patient Care, 10% Administrative Duties

• Case Mix: Adult oncology (varied cancer types)

• Patient Demographics: Adults

• Patient Volume: 11 patients per day in clinic

• Procedures: Bone marrow biopsy (not required)

• Phone Consults: Yes

• Admissions: As required (consulting physician role)

• Rounding included: Yes

• Physicians in Practice: Currently 2 locum providers (no permanent oncologists)

• Support Staff: Shared team including NP, LPN, Nurse Navigator, MSA, and Clinical Pharmacist

• Specialty Backup: Available through multidisciplinary collaboration

• Office Equipment: Standard clinical equipment and EHR

• Beds in the Dept: 88 acute beds

• EMR: CPRS

• Hospital Privileges required: Yes

• Temporary Privileges available: Yes

• Travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance covered

Requirements:

• Active unrestricted New York license

• BC in Medical Oncology (ABIM)

• BLS (AHA)

• ACLS (AHA)

• DEA Certificate

Please note: Physicians who have ever had a license restricted, suspended, revoked, voluntarily revoked, voluntarily surrendered pending action or denied upon application will not be considered for the purposes of this contract.
