We're Hiring: Respiratory Therapist!

We are seeking an experienced  Respiratory Therapist Technician (CRT or RRT)  to join our dynamic team in La Plata, Maryland. The ideal candidate will have a strong clinical background, experience in a variety of care settings, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. This role involves direct patient care for neonatal, pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations in critical and emergency care environments .

Location: La Plata, MD
Role: Respiratory Therapist
Schedule: 3x12 hour Night Shifts per week 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM

• Full time with rotating shifts
• Every other weekend required as scheduled

Key Responsibilities:

• per week Perform respiratory assessments and therapeutic procedures for patients across all age groups.
• Interpret arterial blood gases (ABG) and basic EKGs.
• Administer and manage aerosol therapy, including aerosol set-up using masks.
• Perform chest physiotherapy, including vest treatments.
• Draw arterial blood gases and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams on treatment plans.
• Provide care in settings including Adult Critical Care, Emergency Department, and Pediatrics.
• Educate patients and families on respiratory therapy procedures and equipment use.
• Accurately document patient care activities and progress in electronic medical records.
• Participate in weekend and holiday rotations (every other weekend required).
  

Required Qualifications:

Licensure/Certifications:

• Active  Maryland Respiratory Care Practitioner License
• CRT (Certified Respiratory Therapist) or  RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
• CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) – Preferred

Experience:

• Minimum 2 years of recent respiratory therapy experience
• Prior  travel assignment experience required
• Experience with  aerosol therapy using mask systems
• Must have clinical experience across patient populations:  neonates, pediatrics, adults, geriatrics

CPR/ BLS, Physical, PPD, MMR, Color Blind Testing, FITT Mask Testing, Current Season Flu vaccination REQUIRED

Background check to include criminal at Federal, State and County level, education and License verification, and Drug Test

Preferred Skills & Competencies:

• CPI Certification
• Proficiency in ABG interpretation and arterial blood draw
• Experience with chest physiotherapy (manual and vest systems)
• Familiarity with basic EKG interpretation
• Strong critical thinking and communication skills
• Ability to thrive in high-acuity and fast-paced care settings
