Position Summary Information
Job Description Summary The position supports the day-to-day management and technical services for the DNE simulation and skills lab, including the operation, equipment maintenance, of the simulators, computers and audiovisual capture equipment. The position oversees the inventory for all mannequins, computers and equipment and reporting of repair needs. Under the direction of the DNE Lab/Simulation Coordinator the individual will provide technical support for all simulation operations.
Hours are Mon-Thurs 7am-4pm; Friday’s 7am-1100am. Occasional evenings and/or weekends might be requested.
Minimum Qualifications Associate’s degree
One (1) year related experience
Required Job Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Use and operation of different health-care technology.
Knowledge of audio/video equipment and software for recording.
AVS file management.
Self motivated and ability to work effectively in team environment.
Inventory maintenance.
Preferred Qualifications Associate Degree in technology or health related field
Previous experience in simulation lab

- Provide technical support to students and instructors during simulation lab activities.
- Record simulation exercises and make the AV files available to faculty/students for educational use.
- Safeguard electronic data and programming, including protection from data loss related to equipment failures, as well as unauthorized use of the nursing department documents or protected student/participant information.
- Manage day-to-day operation of multiple simulators and computer/technology applications and software.
- Upgrade simulation software and troubleshoot technical issues with hi-fidelity mannequins.
Job Duty
- Maintain equipment records and completes annual inventory in a timely and efficient manner.
- Handling of hi-fidelity mannequins.
- Conduct ongoing maintenance of all simulation equipment, including cleaning, repairing, assuring that all equipment is in good working order.
- Assist the Simulation Coordinator with faculty education and training re: use of the simulation equipment.
Job Duty
- Assists with the orientation of new lab support members when appropriate.
- Assists with directing the lab assistants in their day to day responsibilities.
- Assists in staging simulation scenarios using props placement and moulage for simulation based training and restores lab to pre-scenario conditions
