Location: Remote with occasional site support (NC, SC, TN region)

Employment Type: Contract / Full-Time About the Role
We are seeking a Transport/Broadband Network Engineer to support Frontier’s network projects. This role focuses on network design, task management in M6 , and project creation in SiteTracker .  While there may be some local travel required, site visits may be coordinated with local partners, allowing the contractor to concentrate on design, work order creation, and equipment entry in M6 .  But the contractor should be prepared to go to the field and conduct site visits.
This contractor will play a key role in completing active projects , with a heavy emphasis on connecting NIDs at carrier POPs . Key Responsibilities

• Create and manage projects in SiteTracker .  This can be
• Enter equipment and update tasks in M6 , ensuring accurate downstream workflow.
• Design transport network solutions, including ROADM/FOADM .  There won’t be new SONET but there is existing SONET that needs to be considered.  Also Ciena , Nokia and Fujitsu . 
• Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to resolve technical and financial challenges.
• Prepare clear documentation and presentations using Visio or PowerPoint .

Qualifications

• Education: B.S. in Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Experience:
• 5+ years in Telecommunications Engineering/Operations (ILEC, CLEC, IXC).
• 2+ years in Transport or Broadband Engineering.

• Technical Expertise:
• ROADM/FOADM and SONET network design (mandatory).
• Strong understanding of Layer 1 & Layer 2 networks.
• Skills:
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Familiarity with Sitetracker and M6 preferred, but can be taught.
• Strong leadership, presentation, and writing skills. Preferred Vendor Experience
  Ciena Z-series/6500, Nokia 7450, Fujitsu 9500. Travel
  In NC, SC and TN, travel may be required for site surveys.  Mileage will be reimbursed at IRS rate.  Client will work with us to try to minimize travel, using local resources when possible for site surveys.  Candidates, however should expect some travel.
